Glaciers are known as the "Rivers of ice". They are made up of snow that falls over the years at a place and compresses into large, thickened ice masses. Their life begins as snowflakes.

1 Batura Glacier:

It is located in Jammu and Kashmir in the Karakoram Range.


2 Khurdopin Glacier:

It is located in Jammu and Kashmir in the Karakoram Range.


3 Hispar Glacier:

It is located in Jammu and Kashmir in the Karakoram Range.


4 Biafo Glacier:

It is located in Jammu and Kashmir in the Karakoram Range.


5 Baltoro Glacier:

It is located in J&K in the Karakoram range.



6 Chogolungma Glacier:

It is located in Jammu and Kashmir in the Karakoram Range.


7 Diamir Glacier:

It is located in Jammu and Kashmir in the Karakoram Range.


8 Siachin Glacier:

It forms the LOC between India and POK. It is located close to China border in the Karakoram Range.



9 Gangotri Glacier:

It is located in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand.


10 Milam Glacier:

It is located in the Trishul peak of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
