Ctrl + O also known as Control + O is a keyboard shortcut that is used to open a URL, document, image, or other file types.
How to use the Ctrl + O?
One needs to press and hold the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard and press the "O" key with it.
In Apple Mac, one needs to press "Command + O".

In Microsoft Excel, if you choose to press the "Ctrl + O" key, it will bring up the Open window from where you can open any document on your computer.

In all the major browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera), the Ctrl + O key is used to bring up the open window that lets you open any file on your computer.
In Microsoft Outlook, Ctrl + Shift + O is used to switch to Outbox.
